Prof. Tom Weber and grad students Liz Weidner and Erin Heffron were aboard New Zealand's R/V Tangaroa in the Calypso Hydrothermal Vent Field in the Bay of Plenty. They worked with an international team whose aim was to use echocounders to quanitify the amount of gases coming up form the ocean floor and find a way to measure the size and rates of the bubbles.
