Jonathan PasonPhilippinesJonathan Pason is a Lieutenant Junior Grade at the Hydrography Branch of the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Geodetic Engineering from the University of the Philippines in 2007. He became a registered Geodetic Engineer and joined the then Coast and Geodetic Survey Department of NAMRIA also in 2007 where he served as a junior hydrographer aboard the survey vessel BRP Hydrographer Presbitero which conducted hydrographic surveys for the extended continental shelf of the Philippines in the Benham Rise area. After he finished the Ocean Mapping course sponsored by GEBCO and Nippon Foundation at the University of New Hampshire, he got involved in the establishment of a basic hydrography course and has given lectures on hydrography for the hydrographers and personnel of NAMRIA. He is currently involved with hydrographic data management and quality control. He is also involved in activities related to the East Asia Hydrographic Commission (EAHC) since 2012, after the Chairmanship of the EAHC was turned over to the Philippines. |

Hadar SadeIsraelHadar has graduated the Applied Hydrographic Surveying training course at Southampton Solent University, UK on 2006 and later joined the Israeli National Bathymetric Survey project (NBS) led by Dr. John K. Hall to become a key member along with his academic studies. In 2010 he has received a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Geography and Environmental studies (summa cum laude) from Haifa University. The same year, Hadar was selected to attend the intensive Nippon/GEBCO Ocean Mapping program at the Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping, University of New-Hampshire, USA. Over the years, he has worked on various projects around the Mediterranean, Atlantic, Pacific and the North Sea and gained vast experience in both academic and commercial domains. Hadar enjoys nature and meeting people while traveling to new places. |

Hiroaki SaitoJapanHiroaki Saito received an M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from Japan’s Kyoto University in 2007, looking at impacts on the frequency of extreme events such as hurricanes by climate change. He joined Hydrographic and Oceanographic Department of the Japan Coast Guard (JHOD) as a geodesy officer in 2007. He belonged to the marine survey division and was monitoring the plate movement of the seafloor around offshore plate boundary regions in Japan, contributing to earthquake research using GPS and a transducer on a survey ship. After the Nippon Foundation / GEBCO training program, he belonged to Technology Planning and International Affairs Division and was engaged in work relating to IHO committees and EAHC (East Asia Hydrographic Commission) in order to support Japanese delegations attending their meetings. He was then transferred to the Ocean Policy Division, Policy Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and will be engaged in the work of international affairs such as Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of IMO as of December 2013. |
